Engagement Photos
Yesterday we went up to Florence to Becca's studio where she took an engagement photo shoot of us. It was a lot of fun and Becca had some really good ideas outside and inside. PJ had gotten food poisoning from Red Robin the night before, but luckily he started getting better right before the shoot. I'm not going to lie, I was a little concerned that he might have the Swine flu. Thank God it wasn't!
Once we get the pics, I'll post the link to the gallery so everybody can see them. Next week Jill and I are starting the bridesmaid dress search, also I'll be meeting with the same DJ she had at her wedding, DJ Rocco.
That's all for now!

The Dress
My mom, sister, and I went to Bridal Corner in Chicopee bright and early today. We were lucky to get the first appointment of the day so it wasn't too busy. I tried on about 10 dresses with the help of Maria, my consultant. The first two dresses that I tried on I loved. But the last one that I tried on I fell in love with. I am so excited I found THE dress. Naturally, it was the most expensive out of all of them, but it didnt matter too much because I wanted it so bad. It's amazing how much you can tell from people's reactions that it's the one, not to mention how the dress makes you feel.
Last month we went to a bridal expo at the Big E. Those people were like vultures! You couldn't walk 2 feet without someone tapping you on the shoulder (from both sides of the aisle) asking you to try something or enter a raffle. Of course, I got lots of good info and I'm glad I went, but I'm also glad that's the only one I plan on going to. Oh! And I'm now a huge fan of red velvet cake!
That's all that's new as far as the wedding goes. I think I'm going to make my save the dates soon and get those out in the mail. So far we're on schedule (or even ahead of schedule)!

The Reception
After many site-visits, calls, emails, and discussions over bottles of wine, Laura and I have decided upon our reception site! And that site is...dun dun DUN!
The Oaks in Agawam!
We loved the atmosphere, which has lots of authentic antiques and a room off of the main ballroom with a working water fountain. The place has been family-owned for 50+ years, and simply fit a lot of our needs better than the other sites.
So ladies and gentlemen, start your mapquests! We've officially got our party palace!

Preliminary Dress Shopping
Yesterday my mom, sister, and I went to David's Bridal in Manchester, CT. Of course the day we chose to go is the day of chaos and pandemonium at David's. We had a 1:30pm appointment and we didn't get helped until 2:30! Thank God after that everything ran smoothly. I tried on about 8 dresses. I had 3 favorites which I narrowed down to 2 and finally narrowed it down to 1 dress. Of course that 1 dress was discontinued and if I were to get purchase it, I had to do it right there and then (they refused to hold it). Talk about pressure. I decided not to get it because it was the first store and first time trying on dresses for me so I know there are plenty more out there. It was so much fun trying on all those dresses!! I can't wait to go to another store and try on more.

When...
The question everyone asks is when we're going to have the wedding. Now, I consider myself to be an indecisive person, but I never thought I would have such a tough time deciding between just 4 seasons to get married. So PJ and I decided to use the old pro-con method. Basically this is what we came out with:

- Spring 2010 - Beautiful time of year but our anniversary would be very close to both of our birthdays.
- Summer 2010 - Too hot. Not to mention PJ doesn't handle heat very well.
- Fall 2010 - Everyone does it... Fall is very pretty but September and October are the most popular months for weddings.
- Winter 2009 - Christmas is our favorite holiday, everything is beautifully decorated and it's a very magical time of year. Let's do it (and just pray there isn't a blizzard)!
